Default 32 hood handle pad

Has anyone come up with a cover or pad of some sort for the hood T handle to keep it from scraping the fender paint when open? Just painted the fenders and would like to keep them nice. Looked in Macs, but didn't see anything like that.

I use small rags to pad the hood latch handles when the hood is open. I don't recall seeing anything offered for this purpose. It usually is only a problem with the early non-T-shaped handles and with T-shaped handles where the base is worn enough to permit the handle to flop out and touch the fenders. NOS T-shaped handles normally do not touch the adjacent fender.
