Default A trip to nationals

Our three model A's are back home from the nationals ,total kms for the three was 14500 .
no problems , all went great,
they were driven in some appalling conditions, rain and wind.
and some water, and I mean water, but never missed a beat.
average fuel was 10.4 ltr/100ks
one Burtz engine the 28 ccpu
one stock engine the 30 Tudor
one B engine the 28 tourer, driven by a lady. who did a great job of driving and specially making us smoko and lunch every day.

pics are breakfast on the road ,and others

Those NSW roads sure are shockers. We couldn't believe how bad they are and no one seems to care or notice up there. Looking forward to Maryborough in 2024 except that we will have to drive through NSW to get there.
It was good to catch up again with people we hadn't seen for a few years now (Covid).
Our Burtz engined tourer turned in about the same economy. It was great to get in and be able to go somewhere again.

You gave a good presentation about the Burtz engine too.

Looked like a fun trip. You'll have to venture out on New England back roads We often joke that the dirt roads are better than those that are paved.

Keith, the back roads were great, but in the rain and wind they were something, one thing I know , the A will go through water over the bumper no drama, and deeper when the fan belt is removed,
the suspension got a workout on the roads, nothing shook loose, only a left rear shock on my pickup started to leak on my pickup, nothing on the others
Dave, the new engine is something else, the talk was something new for me , and I had help from Terry Burtz for it,
Arnold, easy ,just go via WA

That sounds like a good idea. For our American friends, I went in the opposite direction for the 2014 rally in Busselton, WA (Western Australia) and by the time I returned home, I had done a "lap of the block" ie, driven all the way around the continent which is the same size as your lower 48. Just on 15,000 miles in 4 1/2 months with camper trailer behind.
Busselton is in the SW corner of the country and I live in the SE corner.
