Default Tillotson Seepage Fix

I prefer my Tilly X over a Zenith carb but had some seepage at the top/body gasket. I've read some Tilly carbs' pot metal has a tendency to warp so I disassembled the carb and checked the mating surfaces with a flat file. The body was perfectly flat but the top did have a slightly low portion which I decided to clean and fill in using JB Weld and then filed flat to match. (From what I've read, JB Weld is impervious to gasoline.) Re-assembled the carb with a new gasket and all seems tight and dry so far.
Also, I believe it is important that the 3 assembly screws are not overly tightened - to avoid either warping the pot metal or stripping the threads.
No, in this particular case I chose not to go with the heat/clamp option published elsewhere on this Forum.
