Default Beaver tail rear fenders

I have a March 28 sport coupe and keep hearing about beaver tail rear fenders on early 28 cars. How would I know if i had a pair of these on my car? What is the difference?

Beaver tail fenders on coupes like yours have a slight outward cutout (toward the outside of the car) on the inside of the fender below the body. Later fenders go straight down. I don't have a picture of a beavertail fender, but it sounds like you car should have a pair of beavertail fenders on it.

At the rear inside of the fender, starting at the body, the fender narrows down simular to the front, giving the end appearance of a beaver tail. If you have this type fender you will also have the early rear fender braces with a raised boss at the bolt to fender location; the fenders do not have the raised rienforcing forged tab on the inside, only a flat piece of steel in the bead of the fender.
Sorry, I do not have a picture to post, maybe someone else does.

Here are pic's of beavertail fenders. Notice they get narrower right at the lower body meets the fender. Rod

I know this is an old thread but these NOS fenders just sold here on the Ford Barn. I didn't know much about them until I saw this as all my Model As have been 1930 and 1931. Thought I'd share.

It might be very low up front costs, but very high maintenance.
