The know-it-all kid or.....
the Sharpshooter.
I'm sure we've all come up against a Sharpshooter at a swap-meet, show, display, etc. You know, the person who throws questions at you to test your knowledge and there are even kids out there that ask, what's this, what's that, what does this do, that, what's that over there....all in one sentence. Have you prepared yourself when this happens? How do you respond? Do you take steps to anticipate a Sharpshooter? Most of ya know, I like to put Sarah into different scenarios, different personnas from the late 20s/30s era. There was a thread not so long ago about "Tunes for My A"....music is a big part, very big part of that time in History, Blues and Jazz, rhythm from the Boswell Sisters, etc etc. It was from that thread and the ideas given and using a Bluetooth speaker. Got one, JBL, use it all the time even when it's not in Sarah hidden from site. I have over 500 songs from 1926 to 1937. Even got the World Series of 1934 and the actual boxing championship between Max Baer and James J Braddock in 1935. But I wanted to bring that Bluetooth outside Sarah while on display, so I acquired a 1926 RCA Radiola....didn't work but I only wanted the case anyway. Radiolas were replaced by radios, radios had an internal speaker, radiolas had a big outside speakers. They didn't last long...anyway, got the case, cut holes in the back to expel the music coming from the Bluetooth JBL speaker put inside from the top lid but....in anticipation for questions about power source and I'm sure there would have been since a 110 AC power cord comes from the case out the back going nowhere, so I built me a power source in case little Jimmy Sharpshooter tries to out fox the old Fox. I wonder if they still teach potato power in Science class?

It will only have enough power to wind the rubber band.

I have an Amplion horn speaker and it runs nicely thru an earphone jack, if you have one on your bluetooth gizmo.

The second photo is very nice photo at the beach. I could see that same scenario being recreated today in the Model A world. Love the radio too. Radios have come a long way like everything else.

Re: The know-it-all kid or.....
That's pretty funny. ive been thinking about tunes for the speedster to and wondered what to do. I did build this a bit ago for on the deck and camping. I got a nice lil Bluetooth enabled 100 W amp and put it in a can with a battery
it works fantastically. best part was I had all the rest of the stuff. I used a lil 12v battery out of a quad that bit the dust here, that was almost new. before I put it all together I did a test and that lil batt ran that amp at 1/3 volume for 24 hours before it did a low voltage shutdown. since I took those pictures ive added a USB port plug on the outside so I can charge the phone aswell if need be. now some may say that army can looks outa place on the A. but I have an idea I'm going to get me one of them lil tiny old school hard suitcases from way back and do the same thing for the car. I thought it was a very good idea and look the part to |
