Guess that was a question for me. It was back to normal attendance, with perfect weather after rain on the Wednesday set up day. Sold out all my stuff early and didn’t buy much. So came home with more money than I took. Hard to beat that. Stu

I have 1/2 ton & Tonner Front fenders, 1 Tonner pickup box, 2 Tonner tailgates, rear Tonner & 1/2ton fenders, an excellent hood & many other 46 & 47 parts if anyone is interested......

The "jailbars" are part of my history. This one was my first "wheels" as a kid in 1968. Seen here beside my uncles's 49 Merc. The jailbar was converted into a wagon about 1971 but I still have all the sheet metal. Grille displayed on the door of my workshop.

Could not help the "wanders" part of the post. With bias tires mine wants to go it's own way too. I did change out the drag link end and the tie rod seems tight enough so you need keep bust with the steering wheel !

I had a post here titled 'Prone to Wander'.... Some of the guys recognized it as an old Baptist Hymn.....( Don't ask me why I know about that ).... But.... radial tires solved it so well. I LOVE bias ply tires. I probably have 50 of them here on my 10 acres. I love doing king pins and front end stuff. Leaf springs with new bushings etc, but Nuttin' ever did as much as switching to radials. On my red diesel tonner I have michelliun 7.50 x 17 radials just on the front. Bias snow on the rear. YES, I know you aren't s'posed to mix them up but at 40 mph and all drum manual brakes I'm fine. The woodie has 4 radials.... Now my wife likes driving it too!

There's a lot to be said for radials. I still like the look of the old bias ply's, but every time I buy new ones, I wonder why, as I have had one old car with radial's that drove like a new car once installed. That was long ago, an old chevy, which after blowing up all the 600 16's i could find I switched to junk yard 15" wheels with radials...darn kids.

We have a yacht club?... I've heard we do but it's on the other end of the island. like about two light years away. We have one of the Grandkids for the weekend and that's about as exotic as me and my wife get. Oh wait, we are going off the island by ferry boat next week to see my cardiologist. That is like 4 times in 2 years leaving the island. Now, THAT's exotic.

I was planning to , but then I rememberd I was gonna be busy that day sticking pins in my eyes.....

Edit: Sorry for being rude about this. I went to a dinner there once and felt quite snubbed by the folks there. Could have been because I was wearing my old work clothes.

My friend lives in Deer Harbor.
He started coming to the island in 1979.
They have lived full time here since 1995.

Nice collection! I used to think anything after 1940 is "too new" but they're growing on me. I didn't know Ford made a jail-bar-based woodie. Or is it a post-production modification?
