Default engine value

How much is a T engine worth sitting on the concrete floor, complete with carb, generator and starter if so equipped. Internal condition unknown. Thanks, Gary

I would ask $200-$300.

Ford dealer might swap a new truck for that!

Unknown condition sets the price down to the lower end. Just knowing the condition of the bare block and crankshaft could increase the price if it's known to be a good core. Price goes up from there if the crank & journal bearings are still good enough to continue in service.

Getting new bearings poured & sized plus crank work and cylinder boring are some pretty sizable investments now days.

I try to pay less than $100 if unknown. Its a pig in a poke. Sometimes it take 3 or 4
to get a good one.
If everything is a known then I might go $250-$300

Thank you for the input. That was my feelings also but I just needed to hear from some other people. Gary

First off, I would see if you can turn it over with the crank. If it's stuck, it's still worth something for parts, but if you can turn it and pull a plug and see if there is any compression, you could pay $500. and still get a great deal.

Robert Carden charged me $250 for a carburetor and starter for our 1923 this past summer. I'm more aware of resources for Model A's than T's, but knowing that these two worked and I would have no other shipping fees or taxes to pay, I went ahead and bit the bullet. More than I had hoped to pay, but at least I was able to move forward on this project. That being the case, there may be some additional value if engine accessories are also included - cores if nothing else.
