Mysterious Model A
A 1930 standard coupe, tan, black fenders, orange wheels, new top, dual taillights, rumble seat, incorrect horn, Oregon Historic plate, # 4-236 showed up parked askew around the corner from my house today, and is still there this evening. This is suspicious to me. The car is in nice shape. This neighborhood is relatively safe, but no Model A guys I know would leave their A parked over night on the street. And I know everyone on that street, and no one there owns a Model A. In fact, I know every Model A within at least five miles of my house, and I’ve never seen this one. I’ll get a photo of it tomorrow, but in the meantime, has anyone heard of a lost or stolen coupe that fits that description?

Re: Mysterious Model A
Maybe your wife got it for you as a birthday gift and you discovered it before the surprise party

Re: Mysterious Model A
Hmmm. That’s hopeful. My birthday is only a week away.

Re: Mysterious Model A
There was one that was asked about on Facebook or Craigs list a few of months back, was over in NE or SE, seem to recall it was a coupe. The person that owns it might be homeless and just moves it around. If it is the same one, I think that it was checked on, and not reported as stolen.

Re: Mysterious Model A
Sometime back I read in the newspaper of a car jack. A young woman was physically pulled from her car by two thugs who promptly jumped in. Shortly afterwards they were caught on camera running from it. It had a manual transmission and were unable to drive it.

Re: Mysterious Model A
In Portland? That car would be in Mexico before the local gendarmerie answered the phone.

Well, it's gone this morning. We'll never know "The rest of the story."

Re: Mysterious Model A
Woofa express, that happened to my wife. The guy pulled a gun and told her to get out.
She did, called the police and they caught him because he could not drive a stick shift. It was his 3rd offence and the judge gave him 25 years. Dan |
