Another rare eBay find!
Check out ebay item #162892032790 Notice the custom wiring harness! And the hand crafted battery hold down! How about the "rollaway vinyl soft top"? Or "the interior fully restored back to the original look"?? And the wrinkle paint finish? I think the lower radiator hose is original
I'm going to pass on this one so y'all can have a chance at it! |

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Holy cow! That wiring is an absolute mess!
It may not be for me, but I usually don't knock someone's taste in modifications...but at least do it nice and neatly.

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Is this a combination of a 1929 and 1931? The front bumper is 30/31, but the radiator shell seems to be from 1929. The wiring is to clear winner for a back to original restoration. Wow!

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Over priced yes but I was expecting a real turd. Doesn't look that bad to me. Don't see anything that cant be put back. That radiator shell is nowhere near being a 29.

I'm sure that snap-on top will stay on at 50 mph and when it stays on, the loose areas won't flap and mar that beautiful paint job.

Re: Another rare eBay find!
This looks like the kind of car that Marshall has told me he gets into his garage to 'restore' and 'fix'.
Ouch Gateway Classic Cars must not be too fussy about what comes thru the door this car is a turd. And at $15K?? For a Tudor in this shape?? If it was an A-400 or a '30 Tudor Dlx. Phaeton that was worth putting money into, yeah. But a Tudor Sedan?? Never. |

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Gateway usually has better stuff albeit overpriced, at least as far as asking price. For $15K, one can get an authentic 30/31 Tudor.
The shell is a 30 - same as 31 but without the indented top panel. |

Ha, ha, ha! Jeff knows what he's talking about there! Yup - somehow that type of vehicle always seems to find its way into my life...and won't go away. It's just a matter of time before this one shows up on my doorstep with a request from the new owner to "fix a few little things". Here we go again! Marshall |

Pictures always look better than the car actually is. I cant imagine how bad it looks in person.:eek
Really does not say too much for Gateway. Really, how long would it take them to clean up the wires and battery hold down and then show it. |

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Looks like a standard model a motor. With a description of OHV I would expect a Rliey, Crager, Miller etc. Is there somehing I'm missing? I only see an after market dizzy cap and plug wires.

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Sometimes I cannot help myself and this is one of those times.
Note it has a OHV engine and if you let your imagination go a little further this could be a prototype A400!!!, with prototype future options such as: Options on this beautiful Model A are vinyl interior, roll-away vinyl soft top, a custom LED light strip under the dash (for the courtesy lighting), and bias ply tires. LMAO

The 4 cylinder OHV is what sold me. Getting the plane tickets to pick it up this weekend.

Re: Another rare eBay find!
One of my favorite things is the backwards door handle on the outside of the drivers door. This has to be one of the most messed up "stock" A's I have seen.

Re: Another rare eBay find!
Look at their feedback rating and read all their negative feedback posts! At 79.1% the only reason eBay doesn't dump them is they must be a real cash cow.

Re: Another rare eBay find!
The EBAY add also says it's a 4 cyl. overhead valve engine. I must need new glasses. Looks like it's still a flathead to me. I'm not really a Model A guy, but sounds way too expensive for a Tudor in that condition.

Charlie, you are correct and I screwed up. It looks like a 1930 radiator shell, but on a 1931 (supposedly) car.

The reason the driver's side door handle is 'backwards' is simple. The car is a screamer. It goes really, really fast and the handle flipped over 180 degrees. Your welcome. |

Re: Another rare eBay find!
It has the two piece 1930 running board aprons, that and the 1930 rad shell kinda say 1930 to me. Doesn't matter that much as long as they have legit paperwork. However, I wouldn't touch it for that kind of money and that feedback.
