28roadster dash top rail of wood
I no longer had my dash top rail,I don't even remember selling it . Well it hasn't been back together for some time now,I took my 28A apart in 1965. Here is what I did, made a wood one and rear rail too,so here is a photo or two.

It may not be "Factory Stock" but it sure is pretty! Good job!

Re: 28roadster dash top rail of wood
No its not stock, still fig ya enjoy the dash, back when I got my 1928 A,the back of car had been run over by a tractor from side to side crushing the trunk flat, motor was running a field pump house and the farmer would only give me the smashed body and frame,so not fixible as a stocker.
But she's all Ford,I built this back in 1959 for highschool ,ran it tell 1965,got a new wife and house, so took it apart, sold off a few of them to buy stuff for new house and didn't start to try and rebuild it tell a few years ago. It's 1957 Ford 292 V8 powered. Here I've added a temp 2bbl with new aircleaner to get her running again,I had sold off the 2x4 set-up long ago, will be adding a 4100 4bbl after things are working OK. Had to also up-date to a alt. and a buddy gave me some slot mags a few years back I'm now using. Last edited by Dana Barlow; 10-18-2013 at 09:18 AM. |

Re: 28roadster dash top rail of wood
Good idea I was thinking about that for a while now, wondering if anybody had made a wood one. I need a dash rail for my 31 roadster and wood would probably work great until I find an original.
