It's been well below freezing here since early November, -36°C (-33°F) this morning. The calendar showed yesterday as the first day of winter. It musta been printed in Florida.

I hate you B******s that live in the warm clime’s! I am near Gary in Wash and it is cold here (for us). I’ll tell you this, I am sure glad I put a furnace in my garage a couple years ago. It was a great deal of work but worth it for sure!

It is down to single digits here outside and then there is the wind. In the garage it is at least double digits, still not warm enough to work on my car though. Need to heat and insulate the garage next year.

I happen to have straight water in mine in my heated shop, but only because we just got it running. I Was going to push outside and drain, but that will have to wait for warmer weather. Its a good reminder, but do people actually leave their car without antifreeze in it? I would think you needed the boiling protection and anti rust anyway.

Moving is always an option. I was smart enough to move from MI to SoCal when I was 2. I even brought my parents along.

Can I move into your garage and be like a homeless Illinois refugee

Not homely, HOMELESS!

As an extra comment, I never run just straight water in any of our old cars the 50/50 green stuff will keep all that rust and crap from forming.

We had zero at my house in Walla Walla. Sounds like we in WA lucked out compared to others. Still, I went out to the garage and started the Model A right up!

The prior custodian of my 1930 Deluxe Roadster ran tap water for years and years in California. I drained a lot of dark brown “water” a few days ago. Refilled it, drive it to warm up then drained it again. Finally on the third go round the water coming out was reasonably clear. Filled it with vinegar, drove around, emptied it and put in 50/50 Prestone with distilled water.
Should be okay as the temperature drops into the twenties in the next few days.

It's 14* right now in Axtell Texas. Got some Pestone green in mine. Going to be in the 70's again next week. I'm off work all next week so I will put a few miles on mine.

Please be careful about driving in these winter storms. It may be better to stay at home than chance it. Pay attention to what the local authorities say. The Christmas dinner with Grandma can wait. It will all melt eventually, in July.
