Re: Lowering a Model A
Get a 7 leaf roadster spring with reverse eyes, from "A Springs" in PA.

Re: Lowering a Model A
Get a pipe bender. Leave the shortest leaf, it is tapered for the crossmember, and the 5 longest ones. rearch with the pipe bender. That is 3", I will give it anothe 1" one day when I can be bothered pulling it out again.
Last picture is with a 4" drop front axle as well. Last edited by Manager; 08-13-2015 at 01:12 AM. |

Re: Lowering a Model A
Stock Model T rear spring? Remove any leafs? Reform? Any weight added? I really like the way it came out. Thanks. Howard

Re: Lowering a Model A
COOTER,
You have to cut your balls off, all 3, taper drill the steering arms for "B" balls and install the from the bottom. If you want to run mechanical brakes, build a stand-up to keep the actuating arm perpendicular to the backing plate. You will also have to connect your drag link from the inside, but that will be obvious. I can't remember exactly, but you may have to heat up your arms and bend them accordingly. Dalton |
