1941 Ford Dash Light Dimmer

I would like to use the original '41 dash light dimmer that goes through the dash between the throttle control and the steering column. I have the knob, but the dimmer is nowhere to be found. Except for one for a Mercury on Ebay. Does anyone know where to get the part? If I get the Mercury part, will the knobs interchange?
