Re: Goin thru the gears
Another classic. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TpfhFw0QopM
I learned the art of twin sticks helping a farmer with sugar beet harvest. Believe it or not, it's not that hard. To get the hang of. Takes a little finesse. |

Re: Goin thru the gears
Not about trucks but I'm with Frank Miller .... teach your kids to drive stick. Nothing like a better feeling of what your car is doing. My kids are ages 30 to 56 and taught on stick. Trouble is can't buy it in most new cars. Our family has 3 standards and 2 automatic's. I don't necessarily hate auto's but feels and sounds like I'm driving a sewing machine.

Re: Goin thru the gears
Those continuously variable transmissions are even worse.

Re: Goin thru the gears
i have a Model A with a mitchell, i split second gear, all the time. i had a Friend that had a 35 pickup with a mitchell also. he let me drive it one day, he was a old truck driver. he was surprised how i split the gears with the mitchell. i would love to drive a old big with 2 sticks one day. i have a 64 Chebby one ton truck with a 4 speed, i think it would be kool to have a Brownie trans in it
