Default Ford Motor Car Museums Worldwide...

In a recent post, Brad showed and told us about a Ford Museum in the Netherlands.

What other Ford Motor Car Museums are there worldwide that you know about and have been to?

The Towe Ford Museum in Sacramento, Ca; The Henry Ford Museum in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan...

Any others? Please give website if you know it.

Pluck -

If you have not been to the Elliot Museum in Stuart, FL it is definitely worth the stop. Nice cars, but the presentation is half of it. Cars are on a 'pallet racking' storage area. Ask for car you want to see, it is retrieved and brought to a viewing area, behind glass. Rotates 360 degrees each way, if I remember correctly. A few are on the floor to get closer to.

Have a brother and sister in law who live there - we happened to be there a couple years ago when a car show (cars by invitation only) was held. Very interesting mix.

Having spent lots of time traveling throughout Europe and the USA, I can tell you that you will be short-changing yourself if you limit your search for just Model A Museums. Most all of the good generic museums have a goodly sampling of Ford Model A's, mixed in with other marques.

The Towe Ford Museum in Sacramento, is now the California Automobile Museum that is on your list. I did not visit it when I was there due to it being in the 90's outside the place has no A/C. The family would have killed me if we went.

Default The Beller Museum

How about The Beller Museum: www.bellermuseum.com

It is located about 25 miles south-west of Chicago.

Default Museo Ford Gratton in Italy

How about the "Museo Ford Gratton" in Gorizia, Italy: http://members.xoom.virgilio.it/norvegia/gratt_00.htm

It is located in the north eastern corner of Italy near the border with Slovenia. The facade of the museum is an exact reproduction of the front of the Ford assembly plant which was located in Trieste, Italy (Model A's were assembled there as well):

Museum facade:

An original photo of the Ford Trieste assembly plant (note Model A's parked out front).

Brad,

That is interesting...I have seen this also. However I wonder why there is no production numbers for cars and trucks assembled here as the location is not on the yearly Assembly Record Types as with other foreign assembly plants?

I was just at The Beller museum this morning. It is more than just a collection of cars. It has lots of literature (Magazine ads etc). Also, it is a shop working on some vehicles to put them back on the road, not a total restoration to 'new' condition, but driveable/roadworthy in the shape they are in. One present project is a school bus!
