Red face Color of Victoria wheels

Hi gents,
The question is what color should the wheels be for a 1931 Victoria, 190-A ? The judging standard is clear stating that unless the car came standard with colored wheels, and listed in the judging standard, they would be black.
My friends car and another Victoria, both class winners, both have apple green wheels begs the question why. Very curious that two high points cars would have the wrong color wheels. Both apple green.
Are we missing a page from the judging standard? Or missing a paragraph that explains it all?
Thanks for your help.

Al I`m with you, I read this section over five times. is it saying all wheels prior to June of 30 were painted black. also I think they left out the Victoria where they talked about the deluxe cars. I have had apple green pinstripe and wheels on my Victoria since 1984, to which I think is correct.

Take a look at page 22-1 bottom right WHEEL COLORS. and continuing on to page 22-2.

"Colored wheels, beginning in June 1930, were available as an accessory..."

Thanks Mike
So section 14-3 states the Victoria came with black wheels.
Page 22-1 and 22-2 says available accessory. Does this indicate that, (judged in this area), black, apple green, aurora red, Tacoma cream are all equal in fine points judging?
Assuming all equal
Thanks again Mike.

I'm having trouble posting photos. My friend Chuck has a Vicky with Black wheels on the right and Apple Green wheels on the left. It is well documented as coming from the dealer that way. I'll try to attach photos later and do a better job of telling the story

Could be the file is too big. If you click "Manage Attachments" on the "Go To Advanced" reply, there is a table that gives maximum sizes in kb for different file types (width and height are shown in pixels). If you have Windows, you should have the Paint program that you can use to resize picture files. If you have Apple, I have no clue.

As a matter of manufacturer, all wheels were first painted black then repainted in the approved colors.

Maybeso I figured it out! The story goes something like this......The couple goes to the dealer to get their new Ford. The husband likes the Apple Green wheels but the wife decides that they could not afford the extra $. The husband slips the salesman the money and says, "She only gets in the car from the passenger side, she will never see my side."

Funny story but if she was too cheap to spring for green wheels, what about all those other accessories on the car?

Next time I'm at Chucks I'll take a picture of the info sheet that is posted on the quarter windows. That tells the whole story.
