Default Door alignment?

Just installed the doors on my 28 sport coupe. The right door is approx. 1/2" to low at the rear. The left door is approx. 1/2" high at the rear and my middle hinge is binding. I have installed new over size pins. I had removed all body hinges. Is it possible that the middle hinge needs to be turned. If i adjust the space under the hinge area, will this adjust the doors?

I have just aligned the doors on my closed cab pickup.
Take your time and work out which way the door has to move,
I put shims under the relevant hinges, also under the body wood blocks to raise or lower the body at that point.
Also before you put the door back on after fitting shims to the hinges I used a spirit level to make sure the hinges were inline both ways,ie up and down and sideways, this will stop the hinges binding,

It sounds like you need to do some checking, if you have a twist like this in the body.

Make sure the frame is square and level to begin with. A straight edge along the top frame rail should tell you this. Also make sure the car is on the ground or the axle stands are under the suspsension not under the frame or the out of square floor will transfer to the frame. If everything is good then you need to shim the cowl to the frame. You can get alot of movement by shimming between the front cowl bolt and the third body bolt at the rear of the cowl.

You will also need the hood installed, the rad and shroud in place to really see what going on. The front cowl bolt is called the "0" point and everythings is shimmed ahead and behind this point. I just shimmed the 30 coupe and it took me 8 - 10 hours to get things right.

By adding shims at the rear bolt you will lift the door. By adding shims at the front cowl bolt you will drop the door.

Hope this helps.

Suggest if all else fails with doors mounted before doing shims bending hing, use a hing pin remover to remove door. take a rod drop slip fit through all the hings to see if their in alignment with one another. If they are not. you can determine how where to shim.
