Here are some pix I took at Hershey of a NARROWED T with few creature comforts. I was told that it was built in 1927! (It appears that the seats fold for access to the rear of the car.)

(The radiator doesn't really look like that. It's just an unfortunate result of the pixels getting ganged together when I downsized the image.)

Now, that's what a speedster should look like.
If I was going to build one, it would mimic that one.

I looked at this T a couple of times. The folding seats were too cool!

Wick: somewhere I have an inspirational picture of you sitting on a washtub (I think) driving an A. Doesn't look too much different from this Except that the T has two seats and they each have a back rest.

Here is a V8 version of that car, that I helped build a few years ago.
It is a replica of a car that raced in California, back in the 40s. The original was built by a Dick Kraft and was the first, purpose built drag racer. "HOT ROD" magazine had it listed in their top 100 most important drag racers, a couple years back.
The original inspired many safty rules, too.
Like the "T", the frame was narrowed to fit the motor mounts.
The cowl is a narrowed '27 cowl.

I should have asked this when I first posted but, has the car been narrowed at only the axles and springs? Or, has the frame been narrowed as well? Forgive me for my lack of knowledge when it comes to T's.

I think I answered my own question about how the car was narrowed. I stole a picture from 32 chevy vett and compared it to my front end picture. Definitely only the axles and springs were narrowed.

I saw that too. I think the seats were jump seats out of a big touring car. The frame was extremely short and was hacked off rather crudely. He was a dealer and I think he was asking 12K with no title which was way too much in my opinion. Wonder if it sold.

I have seen a few pictures of cars in Alaska that were narrowed to fit the snow ski ruts. Probably about the same width as the speedster. I know Ford made the "wide track" cars for use in the South, but I do not think they made the narrow ones????

Willy makes a good point. A lot of the snowmobile conversions were narrowed to run in the ruts left by cutters & sleighs. Perhaps the axles on the speedster were originally used in a snowmobile.

The folding seats are a great convenience! Allows you to look at your driveway without obstruction!

Did anyone see a person sitting in or driving this car? I ask this because the steering wheel looks to be close to stock height, or about head height or more. Kind of like "ape hanger" handle bars on a Harley. I ask because I have a T chassis and am planning on doing something similar with it.

I tried to hook another To see if I'd do a little good, But ain't no place to put it 'Less I perforate the hood. Wanted, lower side sections of 32 radiator cowl.
