Default Need 13/32" socket for the GAV housing.

Did a search and didn't find a thread. Remember a few years ago a thread that someone was furnishing them. Anyone have a source for one? New or used.
Thank you in advance.

Try a 10mm or 11mm.

Years ago I put my name down to the guy that was making some of those sockets but I never heard anything again.

I have no clue where to go for a socket but I have some suggestions for a wrench. An 11mm open end wrench is tight but will usually fit by fileing a wee bit of material off the wrench, the box end of the wrench will not fit. What you really need is a 13/32” 6 point box end wrench. Very difficult but not impossible to find, turns out that the set screw fo a lathe tool post is/was 13/32” and those used a 6 point box end wrench. You can find them on ebay from time to time I have bought a few, I have never found a source for a new one. The most common manufacturer of the tool post wrench was Williams. If you look at a picture of the wrench it will look like the rim of the box end is too fat for the wrench to work but usually does. If needed you can grind a little waterfall off of the wrench.

The 13/32" 6 point box end wrench was available in UK a few years ago and also a regular open ended 13/32" "11/32" wrench . Good quality made by FACOM in France . The box end fits without a need to dress the end with a file .

Good Morning...I would bet that NAPA can order you one if they don't have one. Another place to try would be Amazon...a third might be Renner's Corner...as they supply lots of small parts for carburetors...most likely a quarter or three eights drive...Ernie in Arizona

I remember the post, and in-fact ordered one and it's sitting on my desk as we speak! I saw it under some papers and thought I must have ordered it and it must be Model A and I just looked at it and sure enough it is 13/32 and I think I also have one they used to sell that's a deep well socket with a T on the top, that's the one I use all the time. I would think searching for the thread it would come up?

Here is the thread on the HAAG 13/32" socket.

The poor guy tried to do us right and got in over his head. We haven't seen him since.

I actually bought 3 of the HAAG 13/32" sockets. Gave 2 of them to friends, still have one in my tool box.

Here's a wrench available on McMaster. 13/32 on one end, 5/16 on the other. Handy for carb work.

I use a small adjustable (Crescent) wrench. Seems to work just fine.
