Default 31 roadster wood blocking

Did ford use any shims on the mounting blocks , my body lays down nice on the frame with no shims. PO had rubber all over the blocks , don't know why it was done , doors line up just fine with plain blocks.

thanks kurt

I believe a pad was used on all the body blocks. It also served as anti-squeek. If you put one pad, same thickness on each block, then you would still have the same affect as none, but just one pad higher. You didn't mention if your hood aligns, if the rumble seat lid closes properly. You may also see some issues of alignment with the rear fender and splash aprons with no pads.

Hello, the rubber pads go on the bottom of the wood block against the frame or splash apron

Originally they were tacked to to wood body blocks, as mentioned in previous post check the rear fender fit to running board and splash apron, mine was just the opposite, so many shims body sat high off frame and rear fenders were misaligned.

Pads were nailed to the underside of the block of wood.
