Default Stud Removal or ?

I have a new pop out switch and cable with the thick ignition cable clamp.

Issue is the stud on number 8 cylinder is the shorter version the the clamp will not work with that size stud.

Question?

Does anyone think I should remove the one stud and replace it with the long version (4 1/16") stud - or install the thin ignition cable clamp?

I don't want to create bigger problems by removing the stud.... not that i necessarily would but I like to ask the 'experts'

Thanks!

I removed the clamp, it makes working on the dizzy easier if you need to remove the dizzy!

Don't touch that stud. It's happy there and so are you.

Cut a slit in the original clamp. Bend it open. Insert your new larger cable. Close the clamp up again just enough to hold the new larger cable.

I like that idea . Kudos pjdeb! That is the ticket for him. If he’s was off I might say otherwise but unless it screws out by hand I would do as you prescribed. A dremel cutoff wheel should do the trick.
Happy A motoring !
