Question Fuel pump rod

Hi Guys, does fuel pump rod go with the o-rings up or down? Its been over a year since taking engine apart for rework & can’t remember? I vaguely remember a tip that if u put it on a fulcrum centered on the rod the heavy end goes 😂 but forgot whether that end goes up or down, great tip if u remember which, Lol! Seems per the tip heavy side down makes sense but looking at the oil ring feature should go down & it’s the lighter end! Shoulda woulda coulda made a note

The only pushrod I know of that has grooves in it (not 'O' ring grooves) are on an 8BA and they go up.

Thx51 Merc-CT, It is an 8BA. Old eyes, probably gotta go to next magnification on my glasses as never notice the were just grooves, eye thought & saw o-rings, lol! Tip does make sense for 8BA’s heavy side down! Also interesting info, I’ve only worked on one Flathead my 8BA .
Thx again
