Default A message about "Bubba"aka Jim LInder

Charlie NY spoke to Jim "Bubba" Linder on Sunday, and is happy to report. Jim is in great spirits and his voice was strong. Jim does kidney dialysis 3 X per week, but recovers nicely in fairly short order. There was some reminiscing between two old guys who are still hanging in the best that they can. In Charlies words, "Bubba" will always be the ignition tech guy, not at all reluctant to show his knowledge. Charlie is happy to call "Bubba" his friend. Some of Jim's inventory is for sale.

That is good to hear. I was in Speedway on Sunday and thought of Bubba and mentioned him to my friends. I asked them if any of them knew where Ford Road was in Speedway, but nobody did. He IS the ignition guy for sure.

The love for this hobby and the willingness to share what you learn along the way are all the building blocks of what we leave behind. We are all going to leave something for folks to remember.
Someone once said that is not where you place in the race but how you ran it.
Both Jim and Charley continue to bless us all.
Thanks to all of (we) the old guys who share their passions.
Enjoy the adventure... Chap

Agree. If it weren’t for Bubba’s great info I would have never attempted to rebuild my helmet distributor myself.

They are both broke from the same mold and are we all so very lucky to have them here, still helping and doing what’s best for us and the hobby. I have been fortunate to have met both men in person - thank you for all you have done for all of us.

My uncle, Bubba passed away on December 11, 2023. I will make a post on its own thread, with more details and then update as we set the celebration of life.

Thank you Betsy Jo. Your uncle made many friends both online, on the phone and in person. Always very willing to give us his valuable time in the interest of making sparks.

So sorry for your loss. Your uncle was a highly valued member on this forum as well as the HAMB. The distributor he converted for me is still performing flawlessly.
