Ceramic finishes
Anyone have any experience with the new, so-called, ceramic finishes? Good, bad, ugly appreciated.

Re: Ceramic finishes
I had my intake and exhaust headers on my avatar coated with Cermachrome back in 1999, car was on the road in 2000. They still look good today. There are pictures of these in my album of the 32 roadster. This is basically a "powder coat" technique with a ceramic powder I believe. Looks almost like chrome.

Re: Ceramic finishes
Well, guess I should have been more specific: these new ceramic waxes or coatings are supposedly designed to protect the paint finish on the car. Some even advertise "never wax again" ..... Sorry I was not clear. Thanks, everyone.

Re: Ceramic finishes
My son has a detail business and swears by them. Well, some are better than others. He has customers with high end cars that demand it. I can't afford the high end stuff. I tried some of the more affordable stuff on my boat and it definitely works better and longer than any wax I've used.
My son coated my wife's truck last Christmas. All it need all year was to be washed and wiped down. And it stays out in the Arizona sun. Do a google search and read some reviews. |
