Default Need information on 1947 Ford choke / throttle cables

Looking for information / pictures of the choke & manual throttle cable assemblies for my 47 convertible. How long would they be? Are there reproductions or have to find originals?
Thanks

I could not find repops anywhere and cobbled together a version using a universal choke cable, 39/40 rods, and connectors. Success TBD.

Looks like there are two possible for 1947 V8 choke. 1946-47 35" or 1947-48 25.5".

I bought mine from C&G (800) 266-0470. They are a bit pricey, at about $150 a set, but high quality. The sets include the knobs, joints, clips, and grommet sets. Some 47s have the gray/tan knobs, a carry over from '46, while the later knobs are tan. Know which you need before you order.

NOS ones are not too hard to find.

As supereal said, check your other dash knobs. Ford used-up their '46 body items and colors unpredictably during 1947. My "late" 47 has the tan dash knobs. I always cut my choke cables to required length using a hack saw or whatever. If you need, the knobs can be purchased separately from some classic Ford parts venders. NOS ? ..... maybe try the classified ads here or at the Early Ford V8 forum site or at Ebay in their Ford Flathead items pages.

If you would be so kind, please update this thread with the results of your efforts. I've been searching for these pieces going on two years without success. A couple of houses seemed to have them, but wouldn't accept an actual order because the listings were in error. Haven't seen an eBay sale or ad on the Barn for any price.

I would very much wish to be proven wrong about the availability of these items.

Thanks!

Check with some of the vendors listed on the Early Ford V-8 Club website. Especially the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, CA. Check with All Ford Parts in Campbell, Ca. They have a lot of NOS parts and some repo parts that you cannot find from other vendors. Also check with 35fordtn who posts on this site. He also has some hard to find parts.

I bought a new repo set from Obsolete & Classic Auto Parts in Oklahoma, they still list them when other vendors have long since sold out. I believe that Dennis Carpenter was making them but hasn't done a run for a long time. Here is a link,

https://www.classicautopartsonlineca...%C2%AE-V8/128/

if they can't supply the colour you need, you might have to order a set of knobs and change them.

I believe we still have some NOS in stock, Dennis Carpenter's NOS parts department has them, and I'd imagine Southside Obsolete would have some.

Most pleased to be proven wrong!

So a couple of houses, while good sources generally, don't have these items. Specifically, C&G, Early Ford Store, and Southside Obsolete. Working on others now.
