Default Contact front tire with brake rod

Hallo und guten Tag!

The right front wheel touches a little bit the brake rod when maneuvering fully right. I read from Andrews that there should be a stop screw on the rear side of the axle beam. But I don't find anything like that on my car. I also did not understand the instruction correctly.

Does anyone know exactly what is meant.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Werner,

The kingpin locking bolt has (or should have) a special nut on it, https://www.brattons.com/front-spind...n-and-nut.html which acts as a stop. Hope this helps.

Werner,

If you have a hole there, then does your king pin move around a little bit? It should be held in very tight with that bolt.

Are you really saying you don't have any locking bolts? That would mean the only thing holding the kingpin in place is the brake operating shaft housing, and barely holding it at that. Sounds very dangerous

The stop pin is missing on the right side of the axle beam.

I don't think I would be driving that car until you get all the parts in place. Please stay safe.

Seems like a common problem for the steering stops to be faulty. My car had the right side steering stop broken off at the axle. It held the kingpin but didn't stop the wheel from turning. After finally getting it out I knew why the previous owner didn't change that part, the force needed to push it out was considerable.

Hallo miteinander!
All clear! The kingpin was/is securely fixed. I degreased and cleaned today. It's like me, as BavArian writes. The inner stop button has broken off.

The previous owners left it that way and welded the bolt on the front side with dots.
