Default Unknown connector

I got the connector shown below in a box of NOS parts some time back. I think the fellow I bought it from told me what it was used for, but I forgot. I have attached two picture of it below. The connector is 1" long and 3/8" in diameter and is made of a hard composite material like used in headlight connector plugs. It has a hole on one end that accepts a wire with a "bullet" style connector on it (top of first picture). The other end has a set screw to fasten a stripped wire into the connector (second picture). If anyone knows what the connector is used for, please post a response. I don't know if I need one on my car or not. Thanks for any help identifying this part.

Butt connector ? Possibly for cowl light or RH tail-light wiring ?

That is an electrical connector for an electric wiper motor. The feed wire goes in the end with the set screw. The other end snaps on the wiper electric post.

Jerry, you jogged my so so memory! Now that you described what the connector was used for, I remember the fellow told me what you wrote. I was wondering how the wiper wire from the terminal box was attached to the wiper post. It is sad getting old, the memory is not what it used to be. Do you know if the connector I have is really an original Ford part or a repro item from looking at the picture? I do have a OD C1 electric wiper that is used on my 28 special coupe (not installed yet), so I will need it when I install the wiper (soon).
Thanks,
Rusty Nelson

It was likely an industry standard connector (more than just Ford). It sure looks original to me!

It looks like a very old "Banana" connector. Banana plugs and jacks were very popular and are still used today for some meter leads. The size is about right. Here's a pair of modern plastic banana sockets and plugs.

I think that is exactly what that is. I have the exact same connector on my electric wipers on my Town Sedan.

I bought a very nice repro from A&L. I wish I could find it to compare, but as I recall I wouldn't know it from an original. If I find it I'll bring it to the next clinic. My first instinct was the same as Marco's, that your's looks original.
