Sub.. 37 Ford. Can the new front type oil seal be installed with engine still in vehicle ? Or can oil pan be removed with engine installed with to much trouble? Thanks for advice.

The one piece seals I have seen would only require removal of front pulley, timing cover and pan. Crank stays in place. Here is one at Davetatom.com

I have 4 flatheads running this seal and non leaks a drop from the front.

As I recall in my 52 I installed it as "deuce roadster" stated above with out removing he crank and still in the truck.
That was eleven years ago. I didn't ask anyone if it could be done or not, just went ahead and did it. Isn't that how we all did it as teenagers with our first cars?

Get the seal from Speedway and a Speedi Sleeve from a bearing supply company to fit over the original scroll oil slinger.
