Sub.. 37 Ford. Can the new front type oil seal be installed with engine still in vehicle ? Or can oil pan be removed with engine installed with to much trouble? Thanks for advice.

The one piece seals I have seen would only require removal of front pulley, timing cover and pan. Crank stays in place. Here is one at Davetatom.com

As I recall in my 52 I installed it as "deuce roadster" stated above with out removing he crank and still in the truck.
That was eleven years ago. I didn't ask anyone if it could be done or not, just went ahead and did it. Isn't that how we all did it as teenagers with our first cars? |
