Unhappy speedometer drive gear

Recently purchased speedster. Builder said it is 29 frame and 30 drive train. Having question of speedometer drive gear. It has 21 teeth. Is this correct or should I install 18 or 19 gear. I don't know why it has 21 teeth and how it will effect speedometer. help John Porter

It depends on what gear ratio the rearend has. Maybe with 21 teeth it has 4.11:1 gears. Rod

Yep, what Rowdy and 1930 Coupe said, and if you do have 4.11 ring and pinion, I'll bet you would find the 3.27 gears much nicer to drive, especially with a light speedster.
