19 inch radial

Has anyone tried the new 19 inch radial tires, I am considering putting them on my '30 Town Sedan and my '31 Tudor. Any thoughts, pro or con??? Thanks... Nick

From previous threads you could draw some conclusions.
#1. Not cheap. #2. Softer ride. #3. less authentic looks. #4. Better braking. I myself don't like the look, it's all in the eye of the beholder I guess.

I bought a set of Coker American Classic radials several months ago and finally mounted them 2 weeks ago just in time to go on a 3 day Social Security Run at Callaway Gardens in S Ga. They rode and drove just fine but it wasn't until I returned home and drove on familiar roads that I could compare them to my old bias ply tires. Night and day is how I describe it. When driving into town the road is really rutted out in the right lane from semi trucks and always before I had to move over to the left lane to or really fight the wheel to stay in the road if I couldn't get over to the left lane. Well, I purposely stayed in the right lane so I could compare the tires and I drove straight through town with only one hand on the wheel. In the future I will only buy radials.

I bought 550R19 Excelsior Radials (Coker) about 15K miles ago. Would not ever go back to bias ply tires!

I have the Coker 19" and Eagle, CarlG, and Terry are telling it as it is.

I would never go back to bias.

Yes. They are a kit I bought from Newport Wipers. They really work great.

Yes, my spare is a radial just like the ones on the ground. It fits the fender well even better than the Firestone bias ply tires I had before, (my avatar).
