Wolf Whistle
After 25 years I'm once again the the happy owner of a Model 'A' (pickup). Fortunately I kept some of my old parts and miscellaneous stuff which includes a wolf whistle that we used. I seem to recall that it's now missing a part but I don't remember what part and if it's even available.
I'd like to fix it if possible ... any tips appreciated, thanks Here's what I have. |

Re: Wolf Whistle
Does it have the brass piece insert in the bell, which is what makes the whistle sound?

Re: Wolf Whistle
I have 4 of them in the boxes, I think the original manufacturer was Yoder in Little Rock, Arkansas. Then later Speedway Motors in Lincoln, Nebraska. About 20 years ago there was someone around the Tampa area making replacement whistles and mounts for them off the engine. Can't find the information on him.

Re: Wolf Whistle
They run on vacuum so are mounted to the intake manifold where the windshield wiper is connected.

Re: Wolf Whistle
I've got a couple of them...took them off the cars. They were the biggest vacuum leak you could ever imagine!

Re: Wolf Whistle
I had one years ago on a ,52 Ford pickup. Lots of fun. The working part was a little rotor that worked inside a little cage. The instructions with mine said to remove this part occasionally (it was held in place with an internal snap ring), wash in solvent and soak in light machine oil before reinstalling.
