36 headlight assembly
For the life of me I cannot get the headlights on my 36 to go back together.
I have fitted the wire clips which hold the lens into the stainless rims and fitted repro flat metal springs into the reflectors along with new rubber seals. I cannot make the reflector stay in the bucket while I try to fit the lens asembly. I spent hours today trying and have given up. I'm sure I've got the wire clips the right way around. What am I doing wrong? |

Re: 36 headlight assembly
Those three flat metal springs that fit the reflectors should clip into three cutouts in the bucket with sufficient tension to hold the reflector in place whilst you fit the surround and lens assembly. If your flat spring clips are repop they probably need to be tweeked in order to achieve this.

Re: 36 headlight assembly
Thanks Brian. Yes I tried "tweeking" the clips but making the loop part fit the slot in the bucket left them too short to clip onto the reflector.
Probably better if I try to find some originals. By the way what you said about the half wits is not right, my wife and I produced a son with a great sense of humor. How funny is that?? |
