Do you want the measurement loaded or unloaded?

Re: 1940 Ford spring dimensions...
Here's the measurements that I have on an unloaded spring. I have two 40 main leafs and both measure 39 1/4 ctr. to ctr. When you stack the leafs and pull them down with the center bolt the eyes pull inward a little. I suspect that 39 inches(or a little less) may be a true measurement on a fully assembled unloaded spring.

I installed a Posie reversed eye spring in my 40 Ford and they called it a "39 inch spring" as suggested by TJ.
