Early V8 Ford document...
Hey guys, I'm new on here and thought I would share my antique store find with you. I found this yesterday in a stack of old road maps that I decided to look through for some reason. It's 17" x 22" and has tons of part #'s (mainly body and chassis....the stuff that would most likely be damaged in a collision I suppose) for '35-'47. There is a column for '48, but it has no #'s. Anybody ever seen one?
Thanks, Dan |

Re: Early V8 Ford document...
Neat. Worthy of framing and placing in your shop/den. Does it give any prices?

No prices. It is definately getting framed. Thought it might be worth having some copies made of if people wanted one.

Ford made those quick reference charts and also booklets for many years. They had tune up ones, chassis, and body numbers ( yours ).

Re: Early V8 Ford document...
Would this have been in a parts department at a dealership?

Re: Early V8 Ford document...
It's probably one of many hand outs that the parts dept road salesman gave to the independent body shops in thier area. Some of the old dealers in our area had trucks in the 40's and 50's that had carried a varied selection of mechanical parts that they sold to the garages right from the truck. Ford dealers used to have a want list booklet that they gave away. I have 3 or 4 different styles of that. All this stuff had the dealers name and phone numbers on them, so they would call them for Parts. Also in the late 40's, Ford had a program to set up independents with tune up parts, brakes, etc.. and a Genuine Ford parts sign to put on thier building to drum up sales. I have magazine ads promoting this program.
