42-47 pickup bed

I am considering a purchase of a 1942 truck bed in California. Does anyone know the weight of the bed and any idea what it would cost to ship it to Massachusetts?

'38-'52 one tons had an 8' bed. Must be an inch or so longer, but a 96" sheet of plywood just allows the tailgate to shut. Starting in '53 with the advent of the F350, the bed was 9' (108"). I think that ended in '66, and back to the 8' box.
