Default Door latch spring questions??

Door handle sticking and found the latch spring broken and a piece had fallen to bottom of door. Is this reassembled correctly? You can see the break in the old spring.

Also, the new spring is not matching the contour and extremely difficult to assemble in the latch to match the old. Any thoughts?

btw- it is a 1930 Town sedan (not slant window)

There are differences in left and right springs
Looks like the spring in the pic is not the correct side for the latch as pictured
I may have the correct spring if you want me to look

the broken spring looks correct. you have the broken parts in the wrong spot on the slide, it should go under that ear. i was hoping that i had one with the spring still on it. on that latch it is hard to install the spring. with out taking it apart. i think either one of the replacement will work.
