Greg, I'd appreciate that. My rings and valve guides are only 6 months old. I had smoke out of the tail pipe before doing that.

According to service bulletins,there were 3 different breather pipes used on the A,s.The 1st used to july 29 had the baffles facing downward.The next design from July 29 to may 30 had the baffles facing upward.The final design had the baffles facing downwards again!It wasnt until the later 32 B,s with the larger breather pipe was the blowby problem eased.Of course,if the engine is in good condition there wont be blowby even with the smaller pipe.

Service bulletins page 358 covers two versions with pictures of baffle arrangement.

Page 454 covers a third version.

I hads the splatter problem too until I figured out I was filling the sump too full. I now fill to just below the line on the stick.
