A favorite of mine, a little more up to date, a magic carpet ride, courtesy of the US Navy

Lastly, another more interesting old plane video (long) from a real expert who later died in a P38 landing accident. Almost gives you enough training to fly one!

The wife and I were at WANAKA in New Zealand this Easter for their international air show. Part of the display was a mock WW1 air battle between a Bristol Fighter and a Fokker DR VII(7). Some how a Sopwith Camel came into the mix and then joined by a Focker Triplane. The smell of burning caster oil and avgas..nothing like it! They also had a great display of Ford cars from very early Model T through to GT 40. The number of different aircraft was astounding, Camels to Tiger Moth to Spitfire to Mustangs DC3's Corsairs, all finishing up in a mock battle and bombing raid. Yes I like old Aeroplanes as I own a 1946 Auster J1, very similar to the Taylorcraft BCD 12

Neat stuff, however, as a complete coward, I always remove the chocks BEFORE I fire up the engine, lol.

When I lived in NY I would often go to Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Along with dawn of flight up to pre WWII aircraft they also have quite a collection of the same time period autos and motorcycles. All of which they use for shows in the summer.

Fabulous! A number of years ago at the airshow at Willow Grove outside Philadelphia, they had a flyover of what they called the "Grumann Cat Flight" - Wildcat, Hellcat, Bearcat, Tigercat, Panther, and Tomcat. The Wildcat was going as fast as it could go, the Tomcat had the wings forward and just about everything hanging down going as slow as it could go. At midfield the Tomcat cleaned up, hit afterburner, and executed a missing man pullout -- just breathtaking.

Had the extraordinary pleasure of visiting the Shuttleworth Collection in the UK a couple years ago and attending one of the WWI Air Tatoos. Wonderful experience.

For years I worked at the National Naval Aviation Museum here in Pensacola. They have a castor oil rotary engined plane ( don't remember the designation) donated by the wife of a WWI pilot. Some of the info about the plane is crudely interesting.
Castor oil and the human digestive system get along very well. That's why the scarf was also worn across the mouth to trap as much oil as it could.
They placed potty tents on the end of the runway for those returning pilots who couldn't make it back to the flight line. In fact they have old film of planes landing short, pilots jumping out while the plane is still rolling, running to the head.
The plane on display in the Museum had a woven wicker seat seat with a hole woven in it and a corresponding hole below it in the fuselage for cleanup, however. it was restored back to orig non hole configuration.
