Default door handles and slide lock questions

My 1930 Standard Coupe has door handles with key locks on both sides. (Of course, I have no keys.) The slide lock is on the driver's side, but there's no knob to operate it (See picture). What am I supposed to have? I think the outside locking handle is supposed to be on the passenger side, but that seems inconvenient, having to slide across the seat to exit on the passenger side.

What's missing in the picture? The knob, of course, but there's nothing to screw the knob onto. Do I need to replace the whole slide lock?

Silly questions, but someone once said, "The only dumb questions are the ones you didn't ask."

That drivers side key lock was added by po. They reasoning behind the original was exit on curb side and lock passenger door with key. There was a slide lock (inside) that you are missing. No key on drivers side. Vendors have what you need, not expensive.

If you wish to replace the outside handles and have a keyed lock, Speedway Motors has a set of two, keyed alike handles. For my convenience, I wanted a locking handle on the driver side.

I bought keyed alike outside handles from CW Moss. When I put new door panels on, I just covered over the slide lock like it was never there.

Another thought is to add a sliding lock lever to the passenger side door as well as locking handles on both sides. Yeah, I am quite lazy and want convenience. Admittedly, you must be very careful NOT to lock both doors at the same time using the slide lock mechanism or you will be locked out of the car. The only way to get in would be to remove the hinge pins on one door to gain access. That being said, the conversion of the passenger latch to operate with a slide lock is fairly straight forward should you wish to attempt it. Here is a link to the article I posted describing the modification needed:
