Please let us know what you find - or don't find. I suspect some error in assembly. Maybe a missing part or incorrect instalation although I find it difficult to imagne how that could be done. My very first thought was "is the venturi right?"

Good afternoon...You might check to see if your points have closed a bit as your rubbing block has warn down. You could also check to see if you have a uniform .025 between your rotor tip and the tabs in your distributor body...Ernie in Arizona

Hey Guy's,

After pulling the carb apart, cleaning it and checked everything over and it appears just fine. All passageway's and jet's are clear. So back together it went. I'm getting ready to reinstall the carb to see if anything has changed.

Regards
Bill

You mentioned that the carb had been flow tested. Do you have the jet flow data for your carb? I would compare the data with the recommendations by Steve Pargeter. If your data is correct, and the carb is clean, then the problem is not with the carb. Ed

I had another thought, make sure you do not have more than one gasket under the main jet that would get the tip of the jet out of position in the venturi. Sometimes it is easy to miss a gasket and leave it in the hole! Good luck, Ed

Talking Re: Carb Issues

Whoo-Hoo!

Well, whatever I did, fixed the problem and she runs just fine. I can set the GAV as low as I want without killing the motor and have now dropped the idle without fear of stalling at a stop sign or coasting in a parking lot.

Perhaps there was something in a passage or jet that I flushed out who know's. Now on to the next issue, ... an oil leak at the front of the engine, ...

I'd like to thank EVERYONE for your ideas and suggestions.
Regards
Bill
