What is confusing most people is the commonly used 1/8 npt grease fitting is larger than the commonly 1/4-28 grease fitting. although there is a 1/4 npt that is larger but not seen as often. I have attached a chart to help explain this. Stay Safe Steve

Is there a photo in the new ‘40 Ford book that shows a spindle with 1/8 NPT threads?

Forgive, me, Mike, but from my side of the monitor they look like 1/4 UNF.

Me too, The hex/wrench size on a 1/4-28 is 5/16 not much larger than the ball .On an 1/8" pipe the wrench size is 7/16 much larger than the ball.

Don,

And to muddy the water further, I have noticed that some, but not all, NOS '32-'34 spindles have 1/4-28 threads whereas I've only encountered the 1/8 pipe threads on all of the spindles seemingly original to the many '32-'34s (early and late production in each model year) I've had over the years. (Yes, while likely a big number to some, I realize that it is statistically insignificant.)

Forgive me. I misspoke. YOU are correct. Thanks for checking on me
Occasionally (often enough) my brain takes a break.
