Default Sediment Bowl Screen

Last year my A was running a little funky. Saw there was grit in the sediment bulb. So removed it, wiped off the screen, inspected the screen with out backlighting it, seemed OK. Cleaned the gas petcock screen. Turned the gas back on and noticed the bulb took minutes to fill. So removed the bulb again inspected the screen and it looked plugged, but what ever plugging it looked clear, cleaned with brake clean and blew it out . Issue solved.

Curious, any ideas on what was in my screen?

It was like a clear varnish, extremely thin. I thought that too, looked in the tank, unless it is extremely thin and clear, does not appear to have sealer.
