Default Model a ignition

Has anyone seen an ignition like this? It came with the 29 coupe I just got.

To me, it has to be aftermarket. If the retaining screw goes in the collar on the back of the dash panel the switch will protrude a long ways out from the dash. Is it actually a pop-out switch or is it just made to look like one? Is it possible that it is not even for a Ford? Maybe an "electrolock" switch of another make? What does the other end of the cable look like?

Very strange looking. Does it work?

It is an Electrolock switch for a Chevrolet, I believe it is identified as an H-3. Similar switches are found on numerous vehicles such as Auburn and Chrysler. They are a totally different pop out switch.
