Default Hershey 2012...my take and pictures

Well, another Hershey has come and gone. Per usual, I took a lot of pictures, this year I only took around 1,100. I say "only" because my camera died around noon on Wednesday so I missed another couple hundred pictures or so.

This was my 5th visit to Hershey and overall I was pleased with it.

My takes...

1) There was a bigger international presence than I have ever seen before. It seemed every 20-30 minutes I was hearing another foreign language being spoken or an Aussie or British accent. Lots of people in from out of the country.

2) There were a lot of fire sales going on. Most vendors seemed extremely quick to lower their prices. I saw many vendors with signs up saying "This is our last Hershey." A lot of "this is not coming home with me, make an offer" signs as well. Every thing I purchased the seller dropped the price a significant amount very quickly.

3) There is still plenty of stuff out there. All it takes is determination to find it and a pair of very good shoes. Me and my group were able to walk every single aisle and the entire car corral over the course of three days.

4) As always the best part of Hershey is meeting up with old friends.

Ok. Now, the pictures...

Everything has a price...

The hazards of Hershey...

Finally, there is always the question of what is your best Hershey find? Well, this was mine on Friday. Or, rather it was my friend Eric's after I walked right past the table this was sitting on despite having been talking about hoping to find one of these all week. A brass hubcap for a 10's or 20's Cunningham car.

So if you want to wander the 1,000 other pictures I took, they can be found here...

Thank you, Tim.

Very enjoyable especially when you choose the "View as slideshow" tab then sit back with a morning cup of coffee. And a bag of Hershey kisses.

I'm surprised to see no one has mentioned the NOS KR Wilson Engine Stand still in the crate that Snyder's had for sale.

Wow! That's a lot of pic's. One hour and twenty minute slide show. Great photo's. Almost as good as being there. Thanks for sharing.

That stand is indeed a find. Good thing I wasn't there to get crazy and buy it.
