Default Additional guestion t5 input shaft

Getting ready to hook up the t5 to aa bellhousing. I was told that the input shaft is one quarter of an inche to long . I need to cut off one quarter of an inch so that it will Fit up with the crank shaft. I have all the through out bearing adaptor s for the shaft . Am I right on the amount that has to be removed. Also the best way to cut it off. I have no lathe . Thanks for any help . Miff
