I can't stand laurel and hardey, but that's not answering his question either.
So to help, could anybody answer his question?
Glad to be of service.

What is wrong with asking why the white fan is so important? Is there something superior with this fan over the ones sold by the "normal" vendors?

Since the answers to his specific request were few and far between what is wrong with giving alternatives?

And please note that he has not been back to clarify why the white fan is so important or if the fan noted in post 11 is anywhere close to what he is looking for.

I don't see a white fan listed on his site. http://specialtymotorcams.com/pages/products.html

That's the fan I was talking about in post #14 -- It's not white, it's black.

I dont know about the white-plastic, but i used to use a black-plastic.
- Its nice
- It does not hurt (i tried that too)
- It will not be seen (cause its black)
BUT YOU KNOW IT DOES NOT BELONG THERE .

This is why i went back to original (Alu)

Besides: As WAY smaller in diameter, the extra blade does NOT
provide extra cooling

Here's a picture of Dennis Cling's product. Part of his hype is vibration reduction and power saving. The goofy asymmetrical fan blade spacing is supposed to prevent harmonics, and the thin belt is supposed to be less vibraty. I didn't notice any vibration difference, but I do consistently get the best mileage in our club--don't know how much, if any, role the fan plays in that.

For those who are aghast at the looks of this arrangement, it is only the tip of the iceberg of things to be tsk-tsk'd at under my hood!

Thanks Mike, I didn't go to the Specialty cams site to check out the fan blades or color. I just took it for granted that the info in post # 11 was correct, sorry.

Steve, do you know if that fan in your pic fits the infamous "black"fan pulley? If not would you know the bolt size/spacing or how to get a hold of the guy who makes this setup?
Thanks,
Steve

I have no idea what else it might fit.

It is part of a kit supplied by Dennis Cling at clingsaftermarket.com. He makes a few pricey but top quality products.

The kit includes pulleys for the crank and alternator, specially machined for the grooved serpentine belt, which is a standard size available and NAPA, etc.

I first met Dennis in 1994 at the joint meet in Tacoma. He had a table displaying a prototype of his fan kit. He was very excited about the reduction in vibrations and increase in power it gave. A few years later when I tried to buy one, he said that I was the only person at the meet who had shown any interest, so he dropped the project. Happily, a few more years later he changed his mind. Now he usually has a small ad in all of the Model A magazines.

Hope this helps.

Steve

This from Bill Stipe's site

Hub, 4" with V-groove, machined aluminum, classed underdrive.

Spacer (apparently required for flex fan?)

And the plastic fan itself

There is also a pulley for the crank which is classed as "underdrive" at 4.5" diameter.

Total price for all above like $200 plus shipping.
