Default PCV valves again

I get a lot of oily mist deposited under my car on the left hand side. A lot of crankcase windage. I think its coming outta the front vent. [Early engine]. No stink or anything, but I'm thinking of installing a PCV valve by the following method; Cut the front vent arrangement off of the bottom front left side of oil pan and weld on a pipe socket. Then it's easy to use fittings, hose, and appropriately sized PCV valve and run said hose via a Tee into the vacuum line to the Columbia. Vac line to Columbia runs from the plate under the carb.
Use original oil fill cap for intake as per original

If all else fails, it'll be easy to disconnect plumbing from bottom of oil pan and eliminate the tee into vac line and it'll be for all accounts, much the same as factory.

Anything I'm overlooking/overthinking?

I welcome your thoughts, cheers, Brian

Early engine , if no rear seal you'll be sucking clutch dust into your engine .

Engine has rear rope seal, also rear return pipe which returns oil to under oil level in pan

Then go for it . It does cut the smell . I have an old add on that attaches to the 36-7 air filter , not a PCv but a tube from air filter to oil fill cap .

Does the original oil fill/breather cap provide enough filtration for the air entering the engine? I mean for my proposed PVC mod.

And...tell me I'm overthinking this; The front pulley is nos; it has the reverse helix groove to assist in keeping oil in the engine. Running in original type white rope seal. How much vacuum does this arrangement allow to be drawn into engine? Would I be better off to sleeve the seal surface of pulley and run a one piece seal?

You´re not turning your engine into a vacuum chamber...you´re just redirecting the airflow !
If you are going to improve the filtration of incomming air that will need making or adapting a new filter setup...and the one you have has worked...will the increased flow affect things ?
Start by getting the PCV installed...then you can overengineer it if Corona cabinfever gets you bad...
