Should I?
Hi I am a new member. I have just been offered a 1932 Ford pick up. The truck has not run for about 15 years. Its in has a lot of surface rust but is a solid truck. My question is should I take on this project? The engine is a Datsun 4 cylinder backed up by a manual transmission. I don't know anything else about it. I have a few other hot rods and Im thinking about it. My wife goes back and forth. Her concern is can I bring it back to life and at what cost. Any suggestions or ideas. I have to look at truck on Friday.

Re: Should I?
I would acquire it, no hesitation.
Cost is relative to one's own effort, vs. hiring out the work. I would dump the Datsun engine. Hopefully, the truck hasn't been hacked so badly. Put in a flathead, 3 speed. You might let others know where you are, people on this site can be very helpful. If you're near SF, Ca. get back to me. Karl |

Re: Should I?
That is an unanswerable question, what is YOUR goal for the truck?? You have asked a question on a site “PRIMARILY” for “stock” vehicles SO most here can answer your question based on original “As Henry Ford” built it!!! IF it is a hot rod you seek Then maybe the H.A.M.B would be a more suited site!! There are so many unanswered questions like
How much is the asking price What are you hoping to achieve with the truck?? Pictures would also help IF your goal is to make it original again!!!! Good luck with your endeavor!! |

Re: Should I?
How do I attach photo to this site. The jpeg picture keeps failing . The truck is free they don't want it. Actually I was going to get it running if I can. I kind of like the survivor look.
Thanks Jerry |

Re: Should I?
Free?!! I would speed over and get it. Even if it's hacked up it could be brought back to some form of life. Better to save it while it's available.

Re: Should I?
Ford pick up offered to Jerry. It actually doesn't look like a 1932 Ford? The Cowl looks like a Model T Ford? Last edited by mercman from oz; 07-28-2021 at 03:22 AM. Reason: Description change |

Re: Should I?
It does look like a mix of different year parts, but I'd be on that in a heart beat, if just for the value of the parts and pieces, but then that's just me.
