A: "Sure! The Can-Am is open to any vehicle that is A,B or C powered."

Q: "When you say " a friendly competition ", what does that mean?"

A: It's means cutting brake lines/rods & oil slicks are prohibited.

Q: " I don't belong to a car club. Can I still participate?"

A: Sure you can! The Can-Am is a time where ALL old Ford lovers can get together
and have a good time. The contest is to see which COUNTRY not CLUB can get the most A,B or C powered vehicles to one spot at one time. If you're in a club? The Can-Am is a great time to try to promote your club because you might meet people who are on the fence about joining. The Can-Am is good opportunity to show these folks what being in a club is all about. Weather folks are lone wolfs or travel in a pack, it doesn't matter, we are going to have a lot of fun!!!

Q: " I can't drive a clutch anymore so I put a pinto engine with an automatic in my A so I could still tour. Is it ok if I come anyway?"

A: Sure can! Now the Can-Am is a reliability run and out of fairness to the folks who still have 90 year old running gear, we are asking the folks who have Shays or none A,B,C running gear to run the flag of Switzerland on their radiator (you can get the flags off of amazon.). You folks are more than welcome to tour but to be counted in the contest part of the event you need to have A,B or C running gear.

After a test run of the Can-Am's tour route was completed, it was agreed that the original meeting spot was NOT going to be adequate. So the new meeting spot will be: Safeway Parking Lot,2249 Cascade Ave, Hood River, OR 97031. Now the Can-Am Model A Reliability Run is not the type of event you register for, however,if you plan on participating it's a good idea to make contact with the folks of Tyee. You can call 360-659-4135 (leave message if no pick up) or email [email protected].

Here is an endorsement. This is how I found my Hotel/Motel for the Can-Am. https://www.cheaptickets.com/. Rooms in Hood River fill up fast, so might want to book now. Also maybe try and find a place in a near by town.

Q: "So what happens if the Canadians win and the Americans lose? Or the Americans win and the Canadians lose?"

A: If the Americans lose, we have to convert to the metric system. If the Canadians lose they have to promise NOT to put mayonnaise on everything!

Q: "That's a long drive for me. Is it o.k if I trailer my car there?"

A: You sure can! Just remember, where you park your truck & trailer is the responsibility of the participant. The Can-Am is a bare bones event.
