Default 50 Years Today

I shot this old kodachrome 50 years ago today. The 39 Ford out between the grader ridges of snow after they had a massive task cleaning the country roads here. I was going to take the Merc out to the same spot today and do a re-enactment but the weather was not too inviting and I figured tomorrow will work just as well.
Kind of ironic that 50 years ago the Merc sat forlorn and forgotten in the snow banks while the 39 was my driver. Today the Merc is my driver and the 39 sits in the shed waiting on a new ignition coil etc.

Good old Kodachrome memories.
Just copied and color corrected a bunch of 60+ year old slides.

Thanks, really nice colour, but hard to do much about the fuzzy focus of the cheap little Kodak instamatic.
And thanks for the other nice comments expressed earlier by others.

Ralph, now you’ve got to get that 39 going again, before Spring planting begins.

Hi Mark
Just waiting for the weather to improve a little and re-new the license on the Merc. Here is another photo from that same time. Summer of 70. The old Merc had been sidelined since fall of 69 when the well worn flathead just refused to start in spite of our best efforts. Being automatic we could not use our old standby pull start with a tractor method. So it sat another ten years before my little brother became a good enough mechanic to overhaul the engine to the point it would start and run like new. Valve job and new pistons and rings. He must have done a good job as it still works great.

I’m waiting on the weather also. My project car is in a pretty much heated garage under the house but my Fordor is in my shop and since we’re getting January temps for a while (10* today) it’s gonna wait till warms up.....take care, Mark
